The Department of Botany had its humble beginning in the year 1997 and Biotechnology was introduced as its offshoot in the year 2005. Faculty are highly qualified and experts in their respective fields of teaching & research. They constantly work to make students as competent, creative and compassionate individuals by fostering an atmosphere of intellectual rigour , moral values & ethics. The infrastructural facilities are excellent so that research work can be carried out by both students and faculty.

The department has carved its own uniqueness in the college by carrying out various environmental activities thereby making students as part of environment conscious citizens. It also carries out Neighbourhood Activities, Seminars, Field Trips , Workshops and Club Activities.
